Foot care and maintenance services

We tidy up problematic, unsightly hard skin and advise on ongoing clinical strategies and at-home management. We are experts at identifying the difference between an actual pathology and standard wear and tear.

Tinea and fungal nail diagnosis and treatment

Dermatological training a podiatrist receives is actually more in depth than the training GPs undergo. We are in an excellent position to accurately identify fungal infections and suggest the best treatment option.

Wart treatment

Warts are notoriously painful and difficult to treat. We use an evidence-based method to treat them, helping you achieve the best result with the least pain.

Ingrown toenail treatment

Ingrown nails are painful and can lead to dangerous bacterial infections. We can provide advice on how to prevent them with self-management, suggest clinical treatment plans or carry out a more permanent solution with surgical correction.

Toenail trimming

Whether it’s due to age, mobility, nail deformity or risk factors, simple nail trimming isn’t always simple. Podiatrists are qualified experts and ensure that this simple job doesn’t create nightmares.

Cracked heel care

Callous that becomes too dry to follow the natural movement of the underlying tissue will crack under the strain. When this cracking spreads into the flesh below, not only is it painful, but it can lead to dangerous infections, especially for someone with a poor immune system, poor circulation or diabetes.

Treatment process

Throughout a general treatment, our podiatrists will only use surgically sterile or single-use instruments to maintain the highest standard of infection control. They’ll also keep an eye out for any other problems that may be evident – are your feet unusually swollen? Is there an odd skin lesion? Is that arthritis in that toe?

In a general treatment, our podiatrists will take the time to do a gentle, thorough job. They’ll work with you to discuss your foot concerns and options for treatment. While this order may vary slightly depending on the podiatrist, their service will oftentimes include the following:

  • Opening a sterile pack of instruments
  • Trimming nails
  • Managing any nail pathologies such as ingrown nails or fungal infections
  • Cut off any callous or corns
  • Smoothing of nails with file or drill
  • Smoothing of skin with sander, when necessary
  • Application of cream, when needed

How often do I need treatment?

General foot care requirements vary greatly from person to person. Some need monthly appointments while others only need to be seen every once in awhile.
