Wound healing can be affected in people with diabetes. Regular foot care and monitoring play an important role in maintaining foot health and identifying concerns early.
Useful day-to-day foot care steps include:
- don’t walk around in bare feet
- wash and dry your feet daily
- wear clean socks
- check your shoes are in good order
- use moisturiser daily, but not between the toes

Your assessment may include visual and physical checks, pedal pulses assessment, capillary refill checks, neurological pressure testing with a 10g monofilament, history taking, and review of musculoskeletal deformities.
Yes. We send a report to your GP outlining your risk as low, medium or high, and provide further reporting if additional testing is needed.
Time permitting, we may provide a general treatment, discuss any further testing required, and advise whether you should see your GP as soon as possible.
We check for things like callus, dry skin, hair growth, nail condition, pain, numbness, pins and needles, pain when walking, and musculoskeletal deformities such as clawed toes and HAV.
